Woods Hollow Nature Preserve
The Town of Milton has a long and storied history of caring for the community treasure that is the 130-acre Woods Hollow Nature Preserve, which provides residents and wildlife with refuge from the surrounding high-density development within our Town. Last evening (March 22nd), the Town Board approved a resolution to enter into a letter of intent with the Village of Ballston Spa to purchase the preserve.

Our reason for wanting to purchase the preserve is simple. We have the means to protect our community treasure from development and to conserve it through the creation of, and adherence to, a forest management plan with less intrusive harvesting practices to retain its charm.

The Town has accumulated the resources to complete this purchase through the sale of land to the Community Emergency Corps, monies paid in lieu of parklands by our development community, and through the Saratoga County Open Space Preservation Grant Program.

The resolution approved last night is a true example of three great municipalities working together for the common good of their residents. We thank the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors for the consideration of our Open Space Preservation Grant application and are beyond grateful for the efforts made by Mayor Frank Rossi and the Village Board of Trustees for working with us through this process.
