From the Supervisor’s Desk:
I wanted to let all of you know what has been happening since taking office. The employees and I have worked very hard to move the Town of Milton in the right direction with departmental shared services and inter office communication.
The Town received a positive report on the 2018 Independent Audit that was just completed and is now up to date in the audit process.
With the purchase of new accounting software the upcoming 2020 Budget should go smoothly. At this time we are working on preparing the 2020 Budget while trying to keep taxes low and without cutting any services.
I worked with Mayor Woolbright to get a rate reduction for an area of the Town that was paying a higher rate for water.
This year the Town received $ 61,672.00 from Saratoga County due to the sale of the old County Landfill. The Town was also awarded a $100,000.00 facilities grant that will be used for the construction of a cold storage garage.
The employees have taken all required training for Sexual Harassment, Discrimination, Workplace Violence and Ethics. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department came and put on an Active Shooter Training Class that was sponsored by the Town of Milton and The Disaster Preparedness Team.
The Disaster Preparedness Team and Community Emergency Corp are co-sponsoring a community CPR / Stop The Bleed training on September 26th, 2019 at Milton Community Center. The Town hopes to be able to offer more community events and trainings in the future.
Summer Camp was once again a big success we had over 75 campers attend this year. Along with having a new Director, Deputy Supervisor Frolish did his part as Health Director when needed.
Once again if you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at (518) 885-9220 or stop by Town Hall at 503 Geyser Road, Ballston Spa, N.Y. 12020 my door is always open.
